Father. Businessman. Community Leader.
Nelson Buss is a local father, husband, businessman, and 30-year resident of Thousand Oaks. After spending his youth living overseas and in multiple cities in the United States due to his father’s military career, Nelson and his family settled in the Conejo Valley in time for Nelson to graduate from Thousand Oaks High School. He attended both Moorpark College and California Lutheran University, where he studied computer science. After working in automotive service for 18 years, he embarked on a career in real estate to optimize his time with his wife and family. Nelson is committed to local charities, serving as the co-chair for the Thousand Oaks Rotary Chili Cook-Off, and donates his time and money to causes that include: the Reading Is Fundamental program at Conejo Elementary School, Conejo Valley Relay for Life, My Stuff Bags Foundation, and AIDS/LifeCycle.
His wife Amy, an Army veteran, works as a teacher in the Conejo Valley Unified School District. Together, they have two daughters, Tristan and Dylan; he is also the stepfather to CJ, a Marine veteran, and Autumn, who attends college.
